The piece has such weight, the clouds above are dark and brooding and provide extra variety in texture. They are also fleeting and changing which is a strong theme in the image. The ever changing ocean, which has molded the beach and created the winds that have moved the sand. The driftwood that was deposited and can be taken away when the ocean feels that it's time. The image really shows what It would be like on that beach looking at the the driftwood and glancing at the sky and the waves. the sky line is placed well in the image and the most eye catching part, the driftwood, is subtly placed in the frame to show the scope of the environment. I really adore this photo.
